TWSS readers know I love me some young rappers, I just eat em up. Well, this one is without a doubt my favorite so far, his name is Moufy and I’m all about him.
Somehow he ended up on my computer months ago, I don’t know how it happened, seriously no idea. BUT I had his song Miss Newton on like every playlist in my iTunes. Someone want to explain to me how I managed to have him in my “Callage Beatz”, “90s Gold”, and “Florence Machine Beast” playlists? Makes no damn sense. Clearly those are three very different genres. Anyways, eventually I ended up getting his whole mix tape, listened to it like 50 times on repeat as I went about my day and thats how we ended up here.
This kid is so legit, I can’t even stand it. We met last week outside of a Star Bucks on Boylston, and he immediately won me over. Seriously, just has a personality of fucking gold-you can tell he is so real. So after about two hours of bonding, Moufy hooked a lady up to go see him perform at the Middle East Upstairs. I showed up not really knowing exactly what to expect, we had our interview and I’m still fingers crossed that he doesn’t think I’m a crazy sexual predator. Can I just throw in there that my jaw fucking dropped when he broke out the Spanish..(when we getting married?)
Let’s get to the show though. Kid has stage presence and swag for days. The crowd was a little younger but they knew all of his songs and screamed all the words, it was so easy to see that he has a solid fan base. What I liked most about the show was that he kept the crowd involved, actually, I lied, what I liked most was when his shirt came off, but that’s another matter. I felt like I was 16 ogling at the hot neighbor. Legit standing there with my flip sweating him like mofo’ and pretending I didn’t have a GIGANTIC crush on him.
ANYWAYS, he fucking murdered it. His new mixtape Boston Lights drops on August 9th, I’m anticipating that hardcore. He’s got a couple new videos in the works. Hes going to be Boston’s next big thing, I can taste it.
